- ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆I am a depositor at CVB and today I went to one of their branches to get a cashier's check for over $10,000. I asked for a cashier's check, but when all was said and done, I was given a money order, and charged $25 (although the funds came directly out of my account.) A cashier's check is guaranteed by the bank; a money order is not. If I have any problems getting the seller to accept the money order, I will file a complaint with the banking commission.By Katherine B Schulz, April 10, 2017
